報告人簡介：Alexander Simeon Raikhel currently is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Entomology of University of California Riverside. He also holds titles of Mir Mullar Endowed Chair and University of California Presidential Chair. Professor Raikhel has a Recognition Award in Physiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology from the Entomological Society of America (ESA). He is a Fellow of ESA and a member of American Association for Advancement of Sciences (AAAS). In 2009, he has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences (USA). Professor Raikhel has been an editor of Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
? ? ? ?Professor Raikhel focuses on investigation of molecular biology of vector mosquitoes transmitting dangerous human diseases. He has seminal findings in understanding of hormonal regulation of mosquito reproduction, immunity and microRNAs. He published over 180 scientific papers, including in Science, Nature, Annual Review of Entomology, Immunity, PLoS Genetics and Journal of Biological Sciences. He has 24 publications in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
